The Advantages of Popularity

In high school popularity can appear as extremely important. The looks, the parties, the teenage life. With the advantage of observation and a few years of development, I've understood even the popular kids (I really wasn't one of them) had other stuffs to deal with. Stuffs like homework, family, etc. In other words, it is just one part of the calculation. The similar is true on the World Wide Web.

Obviously, internet (virtual) popularity is calculable and can have an important influence on your site.
I work on an e-commerce site. As a retailer of a top notch sports gear, we have access to the labels, descriptions and pictures in the product catalog. It's brilliant content, then there's one difficulty. It's shared through all the other retailers’ sites, and through 4 e-commerce sites. I'm working on this duplicate content thingy, but with thousands of items and one person, it's going to need a while. But that fact's applicable for the products which already up.

As I add new things, the way is then lead by quality contents. That's where popularity exploded up and exposed its power.
I added a really cool downhill mountain bike helmet to the site about two weeks ago. It and all the other pages with helmets had original content with original content on the section page. All the helmets were tagged with very attractive prices compared to other listings on the brand in the web. But here's where it gets thought-provoking.

At this point, our sports site gets most of its traffic and sales through Google shopping. Being one of the attractive prices, the helmet really got some attention, and it was popular. The clicks started continuing in and several of those guests turned into customers. This is outstanding news, but it got better.

So, just a couple of weeks later, analytics show "Bell Full-9" (the name and model of the helmet) as keyword leading people to our homepage. Furthermore, the page has been indexed by Google. Another fast incidence, in my experience.

Well here some probable outcomes of basic actions as well:
Low prices = User attention.
User attention = Popularity.
Popularity = More Publicity.
More Publicity = More Interested Users.

Finally, we seem to have a few things working in cycle. The low price of the helmet surely was the promoter. That drew the visitors to the page, bring out popularity. It also caused in some superb conversions (Visitor to Customer). The popularity in cycle with the original content, became an advantage because Google took notice. Our site now has a noticeable rank on the homepage with more original content, plus keyword links. And I'm eager to build on the plusses of popularity.

Montblanc Perpetual Calendar Heritage Spirit Timepiece: The Sapphire Dial Skeleton Watch

You can say by the title that this watch has a lot of success in it. The Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar Skeleton Sapphire Dial timepiece is a visual tour de force, but is it all that it seems to be at first look? It has the style, the appearance & the complication that starts to delight the perfectionists' collective fancy. But will it fall back because of one highly argumentative fact that the mechanism is not an in-house movement?

Let’s first overlook the artistic qualities (or drawbacks if you don’t like sapphire dials) of this watch & perpetual calendars for a moment. They tend to be the examples of the very highest levels of horology. The strong reason for this is obviously the fact that a perpetual calendar is a very difficult thing to produce. And that’s not because the watches that contain perpetual calendars are luxurious. What I mean by this is that the price should not explain the complication. On the contrary, the complication should explain the value of a watch.

So, if a perpetual calendar can be completed at a lower cost to the brand by applying a new manufacturing procedure, then it should be satisfactory for that brand to provide the watch to consumers at a lower retail price. That can be done by including the more basic elements in the procedure of manufacture, or by any other means available to it without losing too much quality. That's what we're experiencing here with the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar Skeleton Sapphire Dial Timepiece. It's not economy, that’s the honest truth, but it is a lot cheaper than one may expect for a watch featuring so many useful outputs.

I really admire the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Perpetual Calendar Skeleton Sapphire Dial Watch. I think it does have a lot to explain for its price tag of $20,800. What it does more to that is toss down a gauntlet to other brands manufacturing similarly complicated watches (But at a very different price point). I'm still a huge fan of in-house production, and would appreciate to see an in-house movement of this timepiece at this price. But it is an honest truth that it is a realistic wish. It's a fascinating piece that sits somewhat easily in the devices of perpetual calendars. But I think it is possible to find some success even if that achievement is based on its artistic appearance alone.

Top Five Men’s Dress Watches

A dress watch that just uses stainless steel is okay. But how would you feel after you get one that gives you a good chance to have some expensive metal on your wrist? Well, to add an additional touch of class, a top-notch mechanical movement is a good choice. But the choice of dress watches aren’t small. Well here are some of my favorites I would like to tell you about.

Cartier Tank
Produced in 1917 and first presented for sale in 1922, the Cartier Tank is an excellent dress watch. And since its beginning, has been endlessly copied beautifully as replica watches (you can find some in here).
Chopard L.U.C XP
The L.U.C XP classical from Chopard earned the top prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Geneve. It ws in the grouping of ‘ultra-thin watches’ when it was announced in 2006. Being a very slim 6.8mm thick, it is motorized by a 3mm thick Chopard L.U.C. automatic movement.
Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945
Girard-Perregaux is one of the smallest widely known Swiss watch producers. Yet, their history discloses some fascinating models. For example, the first watch with a high-frequency movement in 1957. It is exactly their past that is the foundation for the Vintage 1945 model. It was announced in 1995 as a honorary tribute to the original Art deco model, and now it’s one of the icons of the brand.
Grand Seiko
The top-notch watch line Grand Seiko was only existing in Japan for decades. But, in 2010 they started to export certain models overseas for the first time. They built by the superior standards by Seiko’s most skilled craftsmen. So this line has a rich history of excellence.
Master Control by Jaeger-LeCoultre
Motivated by their vintage models from the 1950's and titled after a harsh series of tests, the Master Control was presented in 1992.

At the end, let me tell you about my taste. Well, the lack of a seconds hand still bothers me on the AL&S. But their watches are knock off in terms of class and simple elegance. Also, I find the huge variety of what AL&S create to be matching to my tastes. And that is something I cannot say for most brands. But if you are really looking forward to grab people’s attention at a dinner, I suggest you pick one of the above. And, “Be exclusive” –Just like Henri Nouwen said.
